Name: Serali - nicknamed Sera
Age: 20 Turns
Gender: Female
Rank: Green Rider
Location: Malvok Weyr
Personality: In a word, nosy. Sera thinks nothing of making everyone's bussiness her bussiness, and Faranth help you if you get in the way. She lives in the moment, seizing each second and shaking the utmost out of it before rushing on to the next adventure. Such is her pace of life, that she hardly slows down to consider deeper motives or repucussions, and can sometimes come off as thoughtless in conversation, blurting out what first comes to mind and then getting cofused when people take offence. She has a boundless energy, but a good heart - she never seeks to hurt anyone, and the Weyr is generally used to her manners and no longer take offence at the ill timed statements from the Greenrider. Since Impressing, she has become more 'maternal', and often drives others to distraction with her attempts to keep spirits up. This instinct also runs to Sera trying to defend people of the Weyr, and her dragon often follows suit.
Seemingly ignorant of the ill feelings Fort Weyr riders have for her and those she Impressed with, Sera lets Weyr politics slide by, content to be Kezith's Rider, as well as keeping everyone on their toes. In truth, she is not ignorant of ill feeling, but rather decides to not let it bother her - it is the problem of those too small minded to see the value of the new colours, as well as the abilities of the entire clutch.
Apperance: Tall and lanky, she seems to be all bones, and, during her youth at Fort Weyr, she was oftne mistaken for a boy. She tries to deter any such notions now by keeping her auburn hair long, though, thanks to riding a fighting dragon and needing to don a helment rather often, she keeps her mid-back length hair in a braid. When let loose, her hair curls slightly around the ends, and always seems to manage to get in her eyes.
Her skin is tanned, but not so tanned you can't see the freckles speckled across her face (and the rest of her body, but those aren't often seen). Her eyes are wide and green, always seeming alight with some kind of plot, though often she gets a unfocused look when in her more chaotic moods - Kezith scolding her, no doubt.
Her mouth is always ready to smile, with even, white teeth. With a rounded face, and ears that are rounded and often sunburnt at the tips due to hours a-dragonback, she manages to look rougish and younger then her Turns.
Often seen clad in riding clothes or a tunic and trouser outfit, Sera is rarely without her riding goggles hung about her neck, a pair gifted to her one Turn's End by her father.
History: Weyrborn at Fort, she lived her life amongst dragons. The daughter of a Bluerider, she soon became too much of a handful for just her parents alone, when added to their usual duties. Thus handed off to the Lower Caverns, Sera spent her childhood causing chaos and michief, forever being stuck in some kind of pandemonium. Hurtling through life, she gathered many friends, and spent days being what was 'kindly' termed a 'weyrbrat'.
When she grew old enough to stand still and pay attention for longer then a few minutes, she learned of the past of Pern, and of the dragons. Having only been in Fort, she knew not of the plight of other Weyrs, or the decline in dragonkind. The Queens rose less often, so she heard the Harper say, though she had no way of knowing this, seeing as how she had always known the Fort Queen to rise only once a Turn. Something was being planned to rectify this, but it wasn't for Turns yet, so she went back to living as she always did - quickly!
The news came when she reached the age where she could Stand (if the Queen ever clutched), that Fort was going to go back in time, one thousand Turns, so the Queens could clutch more dragons, which would mean there were more dragons in this time...or something. Sera heard only one thing - adventure! As well a chance to Impress her own dragon! Of course she volunteered to go with the riders! In fact, she went perched behind her father on his Blue.
Once in the past - it didn't feel much different - the Queen clucthed, the clutch was large, and the eggs also bigger. Sera suddenly devoted herself to becoming the ideal candidate, trying to modulate her headlong rush approach to everything. She so wanted to Impress, no matter what colour she got. She'd love her dragon no matter!
Hatching came, and Sera stood, shifting from foot to foot in excitment, and because the sands were scorching. The eggs split open with such force, but she took this as a good sign - the dragonets were strong and healthy, as well as eager.
But dragons hatched, of colours she had never seen before. A side effect of the serum? The scientists said so, and they didn't seem concerned. She turned back to the eggs in time to come nose to nose with a green dragonet, sat back on her hind legs so she could peer at Hers.
Finally! I am Kezith, and you are mine and I am yours. I am hungry.
Sera grinned, and whooped happily, leading her dragonet from the Grounds to feed her.
As it was, she only heard later about the injuries of other candidates at the talons of the new coloured dragonets.
The Weyrwoman did not like these new colours. Sera could not see why - the new colours seemed undeserving of any scorn. But if that attitude was baffling to the new Greenrider, so was the Weyrwoman's hatred for the 'normal' colours that had come from the same clutch! Willing to do anything to keep her Kezith, Sera agreed to the exile, willing to move as soon as Kezith could fly. The pair felt a feeling of omen, of a suffocating hate - and neither were ready for it. Sera tried to ignore it, and did rather well, not wishing to disturb Kezith. Soon, it became second nature, and Sera no longer felt bothered by the animosity of the Weyrwoman. It was the Gold Rider's problem, not hers. She focused on her Weyrling classes, and nuturing her wonderful Kezith.
Soon, the three Turns were up, and Kezith was full grown. The pair went with their clutchmates to their new Weyr, and soon felt right at home, the looming pressence of the Weyrwoman gone at last. Though...Sera still finds it odd when Kezith suddenly spits acid at targets in training. This will take getting used to, being as used as she is to dragons breathing flame and flame only.
Dragon Information
Name: Kezith
Age: Three Turns
Color: Green
Brief Personality: Kezith holds Sera's reins - when Hers seems to be diving headfirst into trouble, Kezith will ask if this is the wise course of action, and maybe they should slow down a little? If her rider will not be deterred, Kezith will invite herself along in some fashion, 'just to make sure you get out with your skin intact!'. Kezith can be playful, but she often refrains from showing this side to any but Hers. Exuding a caring, yet stern, attitude, Kezith acts like a mother wherry with one chick - Sera. This Green is also sure of her speed and strength - well aware of her place in the Weyr as a mobile and agile Thread-fighter.
Brief Apperance: Hide - 669900 and 666600
Mindvoice - Green
Deep green, Kezith has a long, lithe body, with long, narrow wings and a whip-like tail. Her hide is an even colour all over, save for about her eyes, where it is darker, almost like a mask, giving Kezith a dramatic and stern look. In the middling size range for a green, Kezith is easily as agile and swift as her smaller sisters.
Firelizard Information
Name: Tiiri
Age: One Turn
Color: Gold
Brief Personality: Haughty and proud, Tiiri seems to always back up Kezith when the green starts to 'mother' Hers. Under the stern, whirling eyes of her green and gold, Sera can often be kept in check - apart from when she manages to get the two behind her scheme, in which case, it might be best to run.
Brief Apperance: A rich, antique gold, Tiiri is well aware of how beautiful and wonderful she is. With broad wings, and sleek muscles, she has lighter gold markings in stripes along her spine, extending down along the backs of her wings.
