The young Amethyst Queen had Risen, T'lyn had been lucky to have had a bit of warning and had been able to get Oranith out of Fort Weyr before he got caught up in the dragonlust. He didn't dislike the new colors, in fact, he had his two firelizards, Okil and Okio, who were grey onyxes. No, he quiet enjoyed the new colors, but was wary of them. And it hadn't been just his choice to leave the Weyr when the Amethyst Queen Rose, but Oranith's too, as the Bronze wanted more time to understand the newer colors and their patterns. So far, they had come up with nothing.
Leaning back against a rock, T'lyn stretched out a bit, Okio moving from his shoulder to his chest. "What do you think, Oranith . . . Shall we go with the new colors to Mavlok Weyr, if they allow us?" he questioned, already knowing his firelizards would follow him anywhere, at least Okio would . . . Okil was another story. Speaking of which, the little guy was zipping around Oranith's head, trying to play with the large Bronze. There was a deep rumble behind T'lyn's head, as he was leaning against his Bronze's belly.
I think that is a question best left up to you . . . I will follow you anywhere, my dear one, the Bronze stated, chuckling as he snapped his powerful jaws at Okil, missing the grey onyx, but coming to close to eating the poor thing. I hold no attachment to this Weyr, "Even though you were hatched here?" None. I have no living mate, no offspring, the Bronze went on, turning his head from Okil for a moment, receiving a nasty nip form the grey onyx for turning his attention away from him. BEAST! he roared, turning and snapping again, missing barely.
"Eat him already . . . He's a bother, his brother is so well behaved," he jested, running his hand over Okio's wings. As Okil saw that T'lyn was paying more attention to his brother than him, he dive bombed the poor creature, chasing him from T'lyn's chest and taking his spot. "Okil!" he shouted in alarm, relaxing once Okio came back to rest on his knee. "You're a horrid pet," he grunted, tapping the more dominate brother between the head knobs, causing him to lower his head in shame, though there was a look in his swirling orbs that told T'lyn he would do it again if he didn't show him some affection.

Arianna had just finished her tasks for the day, just oiled Jitath and was now feeling and tired and ready to relax. She stood in her weyr admiring the work she had done on the Ruby’s hide. Moments passed as the young woman inspected her work before the dragon’s comment broke her thoughts. ”I am oiled enough and my hide no longer itches. Can we now go enjoy ourselves out in the sun?” The Ruby’s question was filled with such desire that Arianna gave the dragon an affectionate slap on the shoulder. ”Ok dear heart lets go.”
The Rubyrider could have almost sworn she heard a whoop of laughter as the Ruby went from perfectly still to practically galloping out of the weyr and launched herself off her ledge. ”Where do you want to go?” Arianna asked as she climbed down the stairs into the Weyrbowl. Her question was soon answered as the Ruby landed near a Bronzerider and his dragon. Confused Arianna looked at the dragon, her mind full of confusion.
”We have not met every rider in this Weyr they may be different. If not we will move.” The Ruby’s tone told her rider that she was determined to show her that not all of Fort’s Riders were against them. Arianna was inclined to agree, after all she did not bear a grudge against this Bronzerider personally. There was no way the Weyrwoman spoke for the entire Weyr, or at least that is what she told herself.
”Hello Bronzerider I hope we are not interrupting. Jitath here thought you and your companions might be able to use some company. I’m Arianna by the way.” She introduced herself with a polite smile, but ready to have her head bitten off at a moments notice if he was like the others.

We have company . . . Such lovely company,
Oranith suddenly stated, before heard a welcoming rumble from the Bronze's belly. Sitting up, he found that the was a Ruby dragon had landed not far from Oranith and she seemed friendly enough. Though it was strange that one of the newer colored dragons had willingly come near him, as his dragon was a Bronze and he followed the Fort Weyrwoman . . . For the moment, at least. Slowly, he stood, upsetting Okil from his chest and righting Okio to his shoulder. "Oranith enjoys the company . . . especially the company of a beautiful female," he stated, passing on Oranith's compliment. Grinning, he dipped his head to the Rubyrider. "I am T'lyn of Bronze Oranith . . . and these are Okio and Okil," he added, after being nipped in the head by Okil and pointing at each in turn. "Though I must ask . . . and I mean no disrespect, but what made you not stop your dragon? Most of us that follow the Fort Weyrwoman hold no love for the newer dragons," he stated, his blunt personality showing it's ugly heels.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Arianna smiled as T’lynn passed on Oranith’s compliment and heard the Ruby rumble her own greeting. ”Maybe he is not like the others.” Jitath stated, after all a compliment wasn’t something she usually got from any of the Fort Weyr dragons or their riders. The Rider had to agree, but that didn’t mean that the Bronzerider wasn’t going to turn out to be one of the riders who shared the Weyrwoman’s beliefs. The Ruby then turned to greet the Bronze herself. ”Hello Oranith.”
”Nice to meet you T’lyn.” Arianna greeted him politely and flashed a friendly smile. After all she had no reason to not be friendly or respectful to him, yet anyway. She admired his firelizards for a second even chuckling when Okil nipped him, but as soon as he mentioned the Weyrwoman and how most of the Riders followed her the Rubyrider’s smile faded, but she was not yet convinced that T’lyn was completely like most of the other Riders. ”We have not meet every Rider in this Weyr and until we do we are not convinced that everyone shares the same exact beliefs as the Weyrwoman. So tell me T’lyn are you one of those Riders who shares the Weyrwomans beliefs?” There was no hostility in her tone just curiousness. Arianna had not missed the fact that he had stated that only most of them who followed the Weyrwoman shared her beliefs meaning there was a chance of finding someone who did not, but there was always the chance she could be setting herself up for him to start telling her how Jitath was an abomination and everything else that usually followed.
”If that is the case then we will leave.” The Ruby stood there looking from Hers to Oranith and T’lyn waiting to see what happened.

He knew the question was coming, had hoped to go ahead and get it out of the way and was glad that the young Rider had poised the question instead of him having to out himself. Chuckling, he lifted his head to look up at Oranith, but found himself looking up at a grey onyx Okil, who was trying to land on him. Lifting his hand, he allowed the darker brother to land on him, before lowering his hand, running his fingers over his pet. "If you would have asked me that question two Turns ago, I wouldn't have hesitated and answered that I and my Oranith would follow the Fort Weyrwoman through anything . . . but these little guys," he stated, one hand holding Okil, the other moving up to pet Okio, "Changed mine, and my Bronze's, outlook. So, in answer to your question, no, I am no longer one of those Riders who blindly follow the Fort Weyrwoman," he stated, speaking the truth. There could be no relationship between him and the newer color Riders if there were lies between them.
Greetings Ruby Jitath. I hope Yours finds truth and honor in Mine's words . . . We want no ill blood between us and your Weyrwoman, the Bronze rumbled.

Arianna listened intently although she was preparing herself for the worst possible out come. It was something she had learned to do since she had Impressed when it came to dealing for Fort Riders. The young woman had quickly learned that many of them followed their Weyrwoman without question and she would find no friendship or sympathy from them. While she wasn’t looking for sympathy, friends were always nice to have so when T’lyn stated that he was no longer one of the Riders who followed the Weyrwoman she smiled again, glad to hear that. ”I am glad to hear that, and I must admit your firelizards are quite handsome creatures.”
Something about the Bronzerider’s tone told her she had no reason to suspect he was lying or then again it could have been the fact that she had a tendency to be too trusting. ”I believe he speaks the truth.” Jitath’s assurance that her feelings were right made Arianna feel better. ”So if you don’t mind me asking what brings you out here? The warmth of the sun?” She asked with a sideways glance at Jitath as if to explain that is why she is here.
”We believe what yours has to say.” Jitath responded with a playful arch of her neck. Now that she had found out they weren’t against her and Arianna she was all for making friends and a little fun. ”Care for a swim?” She asked the Bronze a moment later.
