I'kin ran into the infirmary with a small white fire lizard in his arms that was very mishapen and was bleeding. He kicked the doors open then yelled, "Help me please," as he laid the precious little white fire lizard on the bed. The ruby rider had found his white fire lizard Prix on the ground near the bathing lake all bloodied up. It was apparent what had happened from the snickering by a few of the Fort riders nearby. His fire lizards and others of unusual color we're constantly under attack because of being different. They we're easier to get too then dragons and no one thought any different of attacking a little white onyx fire lizard.
"Please," screamed I'kin as his other fire lizard Nerit came in a little grey and the twin to Prix. He ran getting some bandages and towels which he tried to staunch the bleeding with. I'kin had been looking for her all morning when his ruby had spotted the little one from the skys. She was terribly missed up and very close to death it would kill him to loose her. Those riders would pay for what they did to her and their precious bronze fire lizards which had no doubt done this. His poor little Prix was the only white fire lizards at Fort and knew that it made her a target. "They will pay," said I'kin as he tried to stop the bleeding that just kept pouring .He couldn't wait to leave and never come back to this place that was nothing except trouble.

Sera was in the infirmary - she didn't know why, but Tiiri insisted on being here, refusing to move and pestering the weyrfolk there when Hers tried to move her. She glared at the Queen 'lizard, and pointed a finger at her. Sadly, her words were lost in a shout of, "Help me please!" She looked around, and saw it was I'kin, rider of a Ruby. She'd met him before and after Impression, and had been in the same classes as him, too, though sadly she didn't know him that well. Well, she could change that. But first...the poor firelizard in his hands. Bleeding badly, the wounds were staunched by bandages. She rushed to his side, and then rushed off to grab a pot of numbweed and a bowl of water, as well as bandages, after assessing the injuries.
She hurtled back to I'kin, and motioned for Tiiri to come to her, the Queen complying for once without arguing. "Tiiri, please comfort her! I need her to stay still so I can help." Tiiri landed, her eyes whirling, and she crooned encouragements to the white. Remembering her lesons from Weyrling training, she cleaned the wounds, and smeared them with numbweed. She looked at I'kin, and offered him the bandages. "Do you want to do this? I'm not sure if she'll mind me or not. Some fire-lizards are picky."

I'kin watched as a woman came over to help him and she started to give encouragements to the little white. She was cleaning the wounds and putting ointment on them. The young man smiled at her then said, "Yes, thank you," then took the bandages wrapping them around the wound. His smile was genuine as the little white crooned then Nerit was on his shoulder looking at his win. "Thank you," said I'kin as he continued to wrap the wings and then stopped as the wrapping was done. She was a precious gift to him and had to smile a bit at her.
The ruby rider couldn't believe his day and couldn't wait to leave to the new weyr. "It was the bronze fire lizards and this weyr," said I'kin with a great amount of anger in his voice. I'kin looked at her then said, "Sorry I don't know your name I'm I'kin it was hard for him to keep up with everyone," said I'kin smiling at her for a moment. "It's just that I'm ready to leave and get away from them," said I'kin as he smiled at her for a moment while the twin fire lizards we're chirping at one another.

The Ruby rider bandaged up his little white fire-lizard, and Tiiri flicked her wings to her back, strolling back to Sera so the queen could nudge the hand of Hers with a smug croon, acting as if she and she alone had helped Prix. Rolling her eyes, Sera petted the Queen, stroking the sleek head with one finger. "Yes, you did very well, Tiiri. Now, how about co-operating with me more, hrm?" she uttered in a low voice, pitched to not disturb Prix. She heard a distant snort from Kezith. I do not have to tell you what the little Gold thinks of that, doI?[/color] No. No you don't. I think I get it.
"It was the bronze fire lizards and this weyr. Sorry I don't know your name I'm I'kin." She was jolted form her conversation as he spoke, luckily she had heard him, though somewhat unluckily so had Tiiri. The little Queen raised herself on her hind legs and bugled angrily, her eyes whirling red. Sera winced, with a look over her shoulder telling her the medics were not pleased at the noise, and, looking back, she started to soothe the Gold back into silence. She got a feeling of disgust from the Queen, and correctly interpreted it as disgust towards the bronzes who had done this. "Sorry about that - she got upset when you said bronze fire-lizards did this - on your behalf, I assure you. I think the bronzes are going to have a rough few days when she catches up with them," she said, with a slight grin, "I'm Serali, green Kezith's rider. I Impressed the same time you did, but there hasn't been much time to talk, really."
Tiiri sniffed, and leapt into the air, winking between, and Sera chuckled. "There we go - she's off to scold those bronzes good and proper! Ah, it'll be good to get to Malvok - even though I ride a Green and have a Gold fire-lizard, those hidebound Fort riders still treat us with that small-minded ignorance. I can't imagine how bad it is for you," she said, for once trying to modulate her tone so it was gentle and not an all-out investigation.
